Mera Punjab
My Punjab.
My Punjab is the “Land of the Five Rivers”.
My Punjab is not Punjab (India) or Punjab (Pakistan) – it is simply Punjab.
My Punjab is the land of great gurus like Guru Nanak and of warrior saints like Guru Gobind.
My Punjab is where there are Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims – with no difference.
In my Punjab people still discriminate on the basis of caste and call themselves the followers of Baba Nanak.
In my Punjab, a Punjabi would rather tolerate abuses on himself than his motherland.
My Punjab gave birth to 20-year-old warriors who sacrificed their life for the honor of the country.
In my Punjab bribing is a way of life; its an integral part of the system. The Government functions on that.
In my Punjab, a guest is still treated like a King.
In my Punjab you get Sarsoon da Saag with Makki Di Roti and a tumbler full of Lassi.
My Punjab has the worst police force on the Earth regularly accused of severe human right violations.
My Punjab is where you worship the soil cause of the glory it has.
My Punjab is where you get to listen the most lively form of music with a dazzling display of Bhangra.
My Punjab is the land of poets like Bulle Shah and Shiv Kumar Batalvi.
My Punjab is not Khalistan. My Punjab is not only for Sikhs. It is for our Hindu and Muslim brothers. The words of Guru Gobind, ‘Treat the human race as one’, will always guide us.
My Punjab is definitely not the corrupt Government officials who don’t work unless you stuff their filthy self with bribe money.
My Punjab is not for religious fanatics or people who have nothing else to do in their life except boast about the superiority of their caste.
My Punjab is my motherland. Canada or US. No matter where you are. There has never been nor will be a place like apna Punjab.
Vasda rahai mera Punjab. Proud to be a Punjabi.

Aww, what a sweet thread. And why am I not on your blogroll?!

Hellz ya!! I’m as Goda as they come, but preach on my brotha!! War doesn’t Know the difference in Color/Beliefs, why do we? The great teachers of the past shared the same knowledge, it’s lessons span time as well as distance, you would think we could have faith that they knew the truth, and follow it….
I don’t have a Punjab, but if I did it would be yours! Instead I have a Canada, and thats yours too!
So mabye if all of us put our Punjabs together, we could have a world of Punjabs, just like your Punjab!!
That would be the SHIT!!!!

Hey Sukhbir it’s been a long time since I came to your blog. This is a very beautiful ode about Punjab and I think more people from any nation need to remember about their motherland as well. And sometimes the mother land isn’t exactly a place but maybe a paradise to retreat to when the going gets rough.
yea well enough of that, make some new topics lol I’m gonna subscribe to this so I know when you come out with a new blog post. well nice talking to you and hope to see you get active on here again lol.

My Punjab is where you learn to keep your friends before you……
My Punjab is where you’ll be introduced to the heavenly scent of soil for the first time…….
My Punjab is the place which shows you the serene views of vast fields filled to the brim with greenery covering the whole horizon ……..
My Punjab is where you find that every third male is a singer with loads of albums under his banner………
My Punjab is where you learn how to earn your living with dignity…….
My Punjab is where you’ll know to what extend someone can go for their self respect and dignity……..
My Punjab is where you’ll find people who are so selfless that they stop their work to help someone in need…….
My Punjab is a place where instead of alarms you wake up with the sound of hymns at Gurudwara ,Temple or a Mosque……
My Punjab is the place where you learn to pray to god for the wellness and betterment of the whole world instead of yours alone………
My Punjab is the place where you’ll see at every festival tractor-trolleys and buses loaded with Punjabis leaving at 3 a.m. in the morning…….
My Punjab is a where people will always reflect what your are.If you respect them, they may die for you with a smile on a face, if you disgrace them, they may kill without a regret………!
My Punjab is not only a land on which you live,
Its not only a place where you grow up,
Its not only place where you took birth…….
Its what you are Made of……….
Punjab
Look at You…..Punjabi………!
This place
You Opened your eyes on this land,
And you took a breath in this heavenly air,
This is place where you took your first step,
you gained consciousness and found out Its Punjab you are where……..
Heres a Poetic version of My Punjab in Punjabi…..My Mother Tongue;
**************Proud to Be a PUNJABI*************
